Montreal’s Virgin Radio 96 is about to take an unprecedented leap with the debut of a ground breaking social music experience: Virgin Radio Takeover. Beginning Monday, June 11th Virgin Radio puts the power of “on demand” directly in the listeners’ hands with minute-by-minute control of the station’s music!
Virgin Radio Brand Director Mark Bergman said, “We are really excited about doing this. The reason that Virgin Radio is Montreal’s number 1 hit music station is thanks to our listeners. Let’s give them a turn at the wheel… and ultimately let them play what they want.”
Every Monday through Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, Virgin Radio listeners can go to the station website and can shape the station’s playlist in real time. It sounds like science, but it couldn’t be easier. Listeners simply cast their votes directly from their own web browser, mobile, or tablet device. They can also sign up for alerts by SMS, IM, or E-mail when their favorite hits are about to play. The Virgin Radio Takeover will be hosted by popular Virgin Radio night-time host Tony Stark, who will deliver on-time, real-time, night-time radio to Montreal! Tony Stark said, “We’re taking some of the power away from the suits on the top floor… I bet they won’t put that in the press release.”
