  • TELUS  today announced that Lisa de Wilde, the chief executive officer of TVO and current TIFF chair, will join the TELUS Board of Directors effective February 1, 2024. The appointment reflects TELUS’ commitment to further strengthen its board by recruiting outstanding candidates who bring strategic expertise and significant operational experience across key markets.

“On behalf of TELUS I am very pleased to welcome Lisa to our board,” said TELUS Executive Chair Darren Entwistle. “Lisa brings strong experience in the media sector, a keen understanding of the Canadian regulatory landscape, as well as a track record leading innovative and transformative change and relevant board experience.

“Her critical intelligence, industry knowledge, leadership skills and operational acumen will allow her to make an immediate impact helping to ensure TELUS continues to put Customers First while delivering against its strategic, operational and cultural imperatives.”

Appointed as the CEO of TVO in 2024, Lisa has led the transformation of Ontario’s public educational media organization to a fully digital, interactive source of multi-platform educational content that continues to engage and empower its citizens.

Lisa graduated from McGill University’s law school with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a LL.B. degree. Fluently bilingual, Lisa is a passionate advocate for Canadian film and educational broadcasters across the country. In 2024, she was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her support and dedication to scientific literacy, and in 2024 she was recognized with a Women’s Executive Network Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 award. She is currently based in Toronto.
