TSN today announced details for the return of its international award-winning million dollar giveaway, Wendy’s Kick for a Million. For the seventh-consecutive year, one lucky fan will get the chance to kick a 50-yard field goal for $1 million.
The nationally televised event airs live on October 14 during halftime of the CFL ON TSN: Wendy’s Friday Night Football broadcast featuring Calgary @ Toronto.
“Since the promotion launched seven years ago, Wendy’s Kick for a Million has produced a million dollar winner and many memorable moments. It has certainly earned its distinction as one of the “must-see” events on the CFL ON TSN calendar,” said Stewart Johnston, President, TSN. “We are very excited to once again partner with Wendy’s and give one lucky fan the opportunity to strike it rich on national television.”
The highly-anticipated promotion gives four randomly selected participants – two from Eastern Canada and two from Western Canada – the opportunity to compete in regional quarter-final events taking place in Toronto and Calgary, with the winning participants moving on to the semifinal in Hamilton. The winner of the semifinal event will then have the chance to turn a 50-yard field goal into a $1 million payday.
The Wendy’s Kick for a Million contest begins today and runs through September 6. Fans are invited to enter online at TSN.ca/Wendys, with bonus entries being awarded for playing the Wendy’s Field Goal Challenge game, referring friends to enter and by sharing the contest on Facebook and Twitter via the contest website, as described in the Official Rules.
In addition, fans can purchase any drink at Wendy’s to receive a Kick for a Million game cup for potential bonus entries and a 1-in-9 chance to win instant prizes such as Wendy’s food prizes and gift cards, official Reebok CFL jerseys and caps, Reebok ZigTech footwear, Samsung Galaxy tablets, and 2024 Nissan Rogues.
The prizes for this year’s Wendy’s Kick for a Million final event include:
· 20 Yards – Samsung $25,000 Family Package
· 30 Yards – Nissan Titan Crew Cab Pro
· 40 Yards – $100,000 cash
· 50 Yards – $1,000,000 in a one-time payment – if the 50-yard attempt falls short, the participant will receive $1,000 for every yard kicked in the air

TSN and Wendy’s are supporting Wendy’s Kick for a Million with an integrated multi-platform promotional strategy. Initiatives include two 30-second promotional spots airing on TSN, a targeted PR/marketing campaign, CFL ON TSN in-game mentions, online creative and e-blasts to registered TSN.ca users. Support also includes a Wendy’s in-restaurant presence featuring Instant Win Game Cups, tray liners, take-out bags, window clings and indoor/outdoor signage communicating the contest details. In addition, fans can follow the Wendy’s Kick for a Million campaign on Facebook.
Wendy’s Kick for a Million continues to be one of TSN’s most popular fan contests with last year’s promotion receiving 7.7 million total online entries. The Wendy’s Kick for a Million campaign has been recognized internationally in the industry, winning silver and bronze at the 2024 and 2024 PROMO! Awards for Best Sponsorship or Tie-In Campaign, as well as silver at the 2024 Media Innovation awards in the Stunt/PR category. The promotion was also a finalist at the 2024 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in the Best Use of Special Events and Stunts Category.
