Food Network Canada has launched its largest multi-platform project ever, beginning with an enhanced website and a new FoodNetwork.ca community tool. At the heart of this community is Food Network Canada’s Great Canadian Cookbook, an on-air and online project defining, documenting, and celebrating Canadian cuisine. Online, Food Network Canada’s Great Canadian Cookbook will serve as the world’s largest ever-evolving, all-Canadian cookbook, and will be complemented by an on-air docu-series hosted by Noah Cappe with celebrity Chef Lynn Crawford, premiering Monday, October 12 on Food Network Canada.
FoodNetwork.ca, the ultimate destination for all things food, is more robust than ever with its new community tool, a place for Canadian food lovers to learn, celebrate, and be inspired by our country’s rich and diverse culinary landscape. Food Network Canada’s online community caters to the 60 per cent of Canadians** who search for their cooking inspiration online and allows users to upload their own recipes, save their favourites from the site into their very own recipe box, and share their own recipes with their social circles. In addition to FoodNetwork.ca’s robust library of over 10,500 recipes, Canadians now have access to an additional 1,200 new and trusted recipes and video tutorials from Food Network’s roster of esteemed chefs including Bobby Flay, Chuck Hughes, Ree Drummond, Lynn Crawford, Alton Brown, Anna Olson, Guy Fieri, Giada De Laurentiis, Rachael Ray and more. The site also boasts over 100 hours of full episodes of Food Network’s most popular programs.
Food Network Canada’s new multi-platform project, Great Canadian Cookbook, explores the dishes and showcases the recipes defining our nation. Online, GreatCanadianCookbook.ca hosts over 240 pieces of new and original content, specially curated for Canadians, including videos, photo galleries, polls, and infographics featuring Food Network Canada chefs and hosts. The site is a forum for food lovers from across the country to share, learn, and contribute to the largest ever-evolving Canadian cookbook by submitting their own personal recipes and food stories.
The Great Canadian Cookbook experience extends on-air with a four-part docu-series hosted by Noah Cappe and Food Network Canada celebrity Chef Lynn Crawford, premiering with back-to-back episodes starting on Monday, October 12. From the picture-perfect harbours of the East, to the lush and bountiful greenery of the West, Noah and Lynn embark on a trans-Canada journey, meeting with locals in 11 Canadian cities and eating their way through Canada’s vast culinary landscape. In between bites of some of the most delicious food that this country has to offer, Noah and Lynn gather the recipes and document the stories that lay the foundation for the Great Canadian Cookbook which can be found on GreatCanadianCookbook.ca.
“Food is a storybook in its own right, and hearing the incredible stories of everyday Canadians through their own family recipes is one of my favourite parts of being a Chef,” said Lynn Crawford, Food Network Celebrity Chef. “This journey brought me even closer to the country I love and the diversity of our people and the foods we’ve woven in to our cultural fabric.”
Food Network Canada’s Great Canadian Cookbook four-part television series is an original production produced by Alibi Entertainment for Shaw Media and Food Network Canada.
