  • Another summer has passed by and the CCBE conference planning is well under way for 2024. Looking back at what was a successful 2024 Conference, it reinforces the direction the CCBE has taken to become a conference focused on continued professional development.

We have received much positive feedback on the new format, with the SBE course and the wind-down Sunday morning session. We welcome your comments and want to make the Conference work as a positive experience for you.

We have some exciting news relating to the 2024 Conference. After a great deal of soul-searching and research, we have decided to host the 2024 Conference at a new venue! Although we will all be a little sad to leave the familiar surroundings of Horseshoe Valley, we believe that we have made a good decision for the future of CCBE. For the CCBE 2024 Conference, we have settled on an amazing facility, closer to Toronto than Horseshoe, which is a world class dedicated Conference Centre. Set on 123 acres of rolling countryside, the Kingbridge Centre is only 20 minutes from Pearson International Airport, and offers 44 unique meeting spaces, with natural lighting, indoor & outdoor experiential learning spaces including the best high ropes course in North America, extensive indoor & outdoor recreational options, award winning chef, 124 spacious guestrooms with water and forest views, as well as tennis courts. Take a moment to check out their website at: www.kingbridgecentre.com.

Mindful that the CCBE annual golf tournament has been one of the great bonus features of the CCBE Conference, we are happy to announce that the Kingsbridge Centre is surrounded by world class golf courses. Our Golf Coordinator, William Johnson, has reviewed the nearby courses and has recommended that we hold the 2024 CCBE Golf Tournament at the Nobleton Lakes Golf Course, which many of you may already be familiar with. Nobleton Lakes is a 15-minute drive from Kingbridge and we will be offering a shuttle bus service to transport golfers to and from the course. For more information on Nobleton Lakes, visit their website at: www.nobletonlakesgolf.com

We hope that you are as excited as we are, at the prospect of holding the 2024 CCBE Conference at this great new location, and we look forward to seeing you next year at Kingbridge (12750 Jane Street, King City, Ontario). The dates are now confirmed as September 15th to 18th – so put that in your calendars. If you have any questions, please contact me or another member of the CCBE Executive.

Continue to enjoy the fall colours as we make our way into the holiday season!

    Membership Chair, CCBE
