The development of the app demonstrates the company’s commitment to being at the forefront of innovation. The inspiration for the app came from a university co-op student with a vision of his very own dream weather app that provided essential weather information with a beautiful and engaging design. Through close teamwork across The Weather Network organization, the design came to life.
“We always encourage our co-op students to be creative and think of new and different features that they would want in a weather app for themselves.” said Carrie Lysenko, Director Global Web and Applications for The Weather Network. “Fire + Rain was our working title inspired by singer and songwriter James Taylor who just so happens to share his name with our 20-year-old co-op student.”
