The WABE Attitude Adjustment was such a huge success in Vancouver last year, that we have decided to continue it this year on Sunday, November 6, at 5:00pm until 7:00pm, in the Stephen Room. Join us for some cocktails and fellowship. On both Sunday and Monday, lunch will be served from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on the exhibit floor. A new event this year will be the WABE Awards Evening on Monday night. This event will combine and replace both the Awards Luncheon and the Slo Down Ho Down. Starting at 6:00pm on Monday evening, we will have cocktails. The awards presentations, dinner and entertainment will follow.
We highly encourage you to support our efforts to keep the prices of the convention down through booking your accommodations with the Hyatt Regency Calgary. To make a reservation, follow the links on our website at http://wabe.ca/convention/hotel-travel-discounts. There is also information on our travel discounts with WestJet as well as Budget Car Rentals. As we have done in past years, we negotiate the cost of the facility rental and the hotel room rates together. To do this, we need to guarantee the hotel a certain number of room nights that will be reserved by our delegates and exhibitors. This year, we negotiated a room rate of $239/night. If we do not meet our contractual agreement with the hotel, the WABE organization faces a financial penalty. We know that there are some corporate arrangements that may have other preferred hotel vendors and realize that you may not have a choice. Please do your best to support the WABE convention by booking your accommodations through the Hyatt Regency Calgary. Everyone who books before Oct 7th and stays at the hotel will be entered to win a $300 visa gift card. The prize will be awarded at the Awards Dinner on Monday evening, November 7th.
