OAB Announces Executive Industry Town Hall

  • It’s time for the tough questions. It’s time to put everything out there. When Radio is looking at flat revenue growth as a positive indicator, there’s no doubt the industry has changed and is facing some interesting and challenging times moving forward. It’s a whole new world out there and people are asking lots of questions: Has radio become a 35-64 medium?  If advertisers continue to gravitate to digital, how do we survive long term?  How many more cuts can the industry make before we’ve gone too far? Are these only large market issues and not necessarily applicable to smaller markets? Are small markets more bullet proof against ratings issues because they survive primarily on local direct revenue? How is our industry responding to Canadian Heritage’s announced review of the Canadian Broadcasting industry?  How is this going to affect Radio?

The OAB’s traditional closing session of the day will feature the top industry executives providing their views on broadcasting in 2024 and beyond. No clichés…just real answers.

Moderated by Paul Larche, President and CEO of Larche Communications Inc., panelists include: Julie Adam, Senior Vice President, Rogers Radio; Doug Bingley, President, Central Ontario Broadcasters; Sarah Garvie Executive Director, Radio Connect; Ian Lurie, Chief Operating Officer, Newcap Radio; and Troy Reeb, SVP, News, Radio & Station Operations, Corus Entertainment.

Don’t miss this session.  It’s your opportunity to connect, learn and grow from our industry’s leaders.

Register today to ensure your spot at CONNECTION 2016 Thursday, November 10th.
