With the countdown to Christmas Day well underway, CP24 and 104.5 CHUM FM proudly announce the launch of the 50th annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish campaign, kicking off today with a generous donation of $25,000 from the RBC Foundation.

Running now through Saturday, December 24, anyone can take part in the campaign by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or making a financial donation at:

any RBC branch across the GTA

The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish welcomes newly minted Christmas supporter Giftagram, Canada’s first-ever mobile app toy drive that makes the gift-giving process easy by letting users send thoughtful gifts in under 60 seconds (no mailing address required). To donate with Giftagram, donors simply download the app, browse the “Christmas Wish” category, choose a toy (from $10-$150), and press “donate”.

Financial donations can also be made online at TheWish.ca, or by texting WISH to 30333 to make a $10 donation, with all funds distributed among participating registered agencies.

Donations are channeled toward providing a “holiday experience”, such as dinner gatherings and celebrations to children and families in need. All financial donations of $20 or more are eligible for an income tax receipt.

For the sixth year in a row, the Honda Canada Foundation are very happy to partner with the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. From now until December 13, donors may bring a new, unwrapped toy to any of Honda’s 78 Ontario automobile dealerships to donate to the Wish and receive a ballot for a chance to win a new 2024 Honda Civic EX sedan. The winner will be announced on CP24 Breakfast on December 23.

“For five decades, Torontonians have exemplified the true spirit of giving, making the holidays brighter, year after year, for families in need through their generous support,” said David Corey, Vice-President, Programming, Bell Media Radio. “We are humbled and honoured to uphold this longstanding annual tradition, and by the contributions of our listeners in support of a great cause.”

“We are so grateful to Torontonians for their generosity and support,” said Joanne MacDonald, Vice-President, CTV News. “This campaign brings joy to so many in need and we are proud to join forces with our viewers in making Christmas special for children and families across the Greater Toronto Area.”

To kick off this year’s campaign, CP24’s Live at Noon will broadcast live starting at 12 noon from RBC’s Yonge and St. Josephs branch accepting toy and financial donations, as well as highlighting campaign donor support.

Lindt Chocolates sweetens the day for those who drop off a toy at this RBC location, and in the lobby of Bell Media’s downtown Toronto headquarters  with a Lindt Elf Box holiday giveaway while supplies last. One of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area, the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish provides financial assistance to hundreds of charitable organizations, social services agencies, churches, and community centres. In 2024, with help from Royal Bank of Canada in conjunction with Toronto Social Services, the Christmas Wish campaign provided support to hundreds of thousands of individuals with toys and financial assistance.

The success is made possible by all valued partners who have been helping to put smiles on the faces of children and families for 50 years, with a special shout out to LoyaltyOne, owner and operator of the Air Miles Reward Program. LoyaltyOne’s participation has made a major financial impact through donations of more than $1.5 million and thousands of toys over the years to the program, which they continue to support this year.

The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish  acknowledges the generosity of community partners RBC, LoyaltyOne (owner and operator of the Air Miles Reward Program), the Honda Canada Foundation, Budget Car and Truck Rental, Panera Bread, and Lindt Chocolates.
