Taking place Saturday, Oct. 1 during the closing weekend of CIFF 2024 (September 21 to October 2), five filmmaking teams from Alberta will be given the opportunity to pitch their short film in front of a live audience and a jury of industry experts. The winner will be awarded with a $50,000 prize, provided by BravoFACT, to fund their winning project, two festival passes for CIFF 2024, and the chance to screen their short film at the 2024 festival. The winning team will be announced at the CIFF Awards Brunch on Sunday, Oct. 2.
“BravoFACT strives to support a strong and diverse Canadian film industry, and our partnership with CIFF allows us to continue to expand our reach,” said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. “We look forward to working with CIFF and shining a spotlight on Calgary’s young filmmaking talent.”
